Fan's view: Time is running out

AS PROFESSOR Brain Cox might say, ‘Things Can Only Get Better’, and that certainly applies to Warriors – or so we would hope.

This season has so far brought us two wins – although none of which have come in the league. If we continue like this then we could be relegated by Newcastle at Kingston Park on Sunday, March 30.

That gives us five league games to turn things around enough to record a win in the Premiership, which is a tough call for any club when you consider three of those games are against Leicester Tigers, Harlequins and Northampton Saints.

But there is hope and some light at the end of the tunnel, with Agustin Creevy, Jonathan Thomas and David Lemi close to a return.

Key players such as James Percival and Chris Pennell have had some rest time in January, while some of our young talent are coming to the forefront, with the likes of Andy Symons, Max Stelling, Dean Hammond and Josh Watkins starting to impress.

Consistency in selection and chopping the number of injuries picked up would give us hope, although still slim, and home games against Sale Sharks and London Wasps are going to be massive for us.

If we win those then the away fixture at Falcons could be the relegation decider. But if we lose them then it becomes the game mathematicians get interested in.
