Trevor ready to get into the swing of things

Worcester Editorial 16th Jan, 2014 Updated: 19th Oct, 2016   0

ONE of the UK’s most experienced jazz musicians is set to make a welcome return to the stage at a venue near Worcester this week.

Trevor Emeny, who has been one of the country’s foremost tenor saxophone virtuoso’s for more than 50 years, will be performing as part of a jazz trio at the Halfway House in Fernhill Heath on Friday (January 17).

His career has seen him play around the world with a number of greats, including Tony Bennett, Cleo Laine and Shirley Bassey.

But he is now hoping to treat enthusiasts to his unmistakable Stan Getz style of smooth playing when he performs with Mark Bettis on keyboard and his son, Martin, on drums at the Droitwich Road venue.

Admission is free, with music starting from 8.30pm.
