THE PERFECT remedy for the winter blues is coming to the city on Friday (January 10).

Val Wiseman, who is well known to Midlands audiences, will be singing songs once synonymous with the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Peggy Lee and Sarah Vaughan in her show Divas of Swing at Barbourne Ex Services Club in The Moors.

She will be supported by Tom Hill on bass, Keith Bill on keyboards and Carl Hemmingsley on drums.

Worcester Jazz, which has organised the night, is dedicated to staging top quality music and the Friday sessions are proving very successful.

In addition, membership of the club will gives discount on entry and a discount will also apply to jazz events at Huntingdon Hall.

There’s also a car sharing scheme in operation for anyone who is concerned about driving at night. Full details are on the website, www.worcesterjazz.org.uk.

The show starts at 8pm, doors open at 7pm. Tickets are available on the door and cost £10 or £9 for members. There’s ample car parking and a licensed bar plus the option of tea or coffee.
