Creevy sidelined until new year

WORCESTER Warriors are set to be without influential hooker Agustin Creevy until the new year after he underwent knee surgery.

The 28-year-old, who only arrived at Sixways last month after representing Argentina in the Rugby Championship, revealed on his Twitter account on Monday that he hopes to be back in action in three months’ time after a successful operation.

Creevy sustained the injury during Warriors’ clash against Bath last Friday as he was helped off the field after being replaced by Chris Brooker in the 61st minute.

The news is set to be another setback for Warriors, who are likely to be without the likes of Mariano Galarza and Euan Murray in the coming weeks due to the autumn internationals, while experienced duo Semisi Taulava and James Percival have yet to recover from their respective long-term injuries.

However, speaking after Warriors’ defeat to Bath, director of rugby Dean Ryan confirmed new recruit Leonardo Senatore will remain at Sixways despite being named in Argentina’s squad.

The back row, who made his debut against the Somerset side, could also be in line to face Cardiff Blues in the LV=Cup at Arms Park on Friday night (7.30pm).
