WORCESTER Wolves director of basketball Paul James has been named the Molten BBL Coach of the Month for October following his side’s perfect start to the season.
The announcement comes after the club’s summer signing Will Creekmore was awarded the Player of the Month award on Tuesday after impressing in his first few games in the British Basketball League.
Wolves have enjoyed their best ever start to a BBL Championship campaign after winning their first six games of the season and go into Friday’s home league match against Plymouth Raiders sitting two points clear at the top of the BBL Championship table.
The club are the only remaining unbeaten side in the league and also enjoyed cup success in October after beating Manchester Giants in the opening round of the BBL Cup at their new 2,000 capacity University of Worcester Arena.
“It has been a wonderful start,” said James.
“We are making history at the club and the support we have been getting from the local community and to partnership with the University of Worcester has been a brilliant factor.
“I have been very fortunate over the years to be in situations that have been challenging.
“The Worcester Wolves are another challenge for me and one that I was happy to accept.
“I can really see light at the end of the tunnel with the Wolves now and personally, it would be great for me to achieve success as head coach of my third BBL team.”
