KEAN Beandelow, Dave Walker and Terry Shough all gave good accounts of themselves  for Worcester St Johns Cycling Club in the Coventry Open ten mile time trial.

In good weather, Bendelow came 21st in 22 mins 40 secs, Walker finished 25th in 22 mins 56 secs while Shough came 37th in 24 mins 20 secs. Matt Clinton (Mike Vaughan Cycles) won the event in 19 mins 48 secs.

Meanwhile more than a dozen club members entered the Ride Like a Pro Event promoted by Listers Jaguar/ Team Sky in wet conditions. Followed by a Jaguar Team Sky car, Darren Fearns and Mark Thomas were the first to complete the 46 mile route which included Stanford Bank in 2 hours 17 mins 29 secs.

Dave Preece competed in the veterans category at the Aldersley Cyclocross race in Wolverhampton. In very muddy conditions, Preece was the only rider to represent his club. He said: “The race was great, the whole lap was gloppy mud, some really tricky off camber sections, wet tree roots and seriously steep climbs and drops. I had to carry the bike up a couple of the climbs.”
