Worcester City prepare for busy Easter weekend

Worcester Editorial 18th Apr, 2014 Updated: 19th Oct, 2016   0

WORCESTER City kick off their Easter weekend with the visit of Brackley Town to Aggborough tomorrow (Saturday) in the Skrill Conference North.

The Blue and Whites play the first of their two games in three days as they look to secure three points against their play-off chasing opponents.

Carl Heeley set his side the objective of finishing in the top half of the table after they secured their Skrill Conference North status, but one league win in five has dented those ambitions.

City, however, are on track to beat last season’s tally of 50 points is they collect five points from the remaining nine.

Aaron Farrell will be hoping for another start after getting 90 minutes under his belt in the 1-0 defeat to Workington on Saturday (April 12) with youngster James Lemon also pushing for a start after his cameo in the loss.

The Saints are still mathematically in with a chance of reaching the play-offs as they find themselves nine points behind fifth placed Guiseley, with nine to play for.

Town will need to gain all three points tomorrow to keep those hopes alive, but with only two wins in their last 16 the hosts will fancy their chances.

Due to Worcester City Supporters Trust handing in their application for a new stadium at Perdiswell, supporters can pay what they feel is appropriate for entrance to the game.

Worcester’s second game of the Easter period sees them travel to fourth-placed Hednesford Town, who have won five of their last six, on Monday (April 21) 3pm kick off.
