WARRIORS will open their 2016/17 European Challenge Cup campaign with a trip to Russia to face Enisei-STM.

The match, which will either take place in Sochi or Krasnodar on Saturday, October 15, will see the Sixways side travel to Russia for the first time in their history.

The club will then host CA Brive on Saturday, October 22 – their first European game on the new artificial pitch.

The tournament will then return in December, where Warriors will face back-to-back clashes with Newport Gwent Dragons on Saturday, December 10 at Sixways and Friday, December 16 at the Rodney Parade Stadium.

The pool stages of the competition will conclude in January, when the club travel to France to play Brive on either the 12, 13, 14 or 15, before hosting Enisei a week later.

Warriors Chief Executive Jim O’Toole, said: “We’re excited to be opening our European campaign with a trip to Russia and have been advised by the organising committee, that the exact venue will be confirmed early next week.

“I’m sure our supporters will understand the challenge European Professional Club Rugby face, in ensuring venues and fixture dates work for all involved clubs.”
