Val: There's so much more we can achieve

WARRIORS loosehead prop Val Rapava Ruskin has insisted the club aren’t relaxing despite having secured Aviva Premiership status for next season.

The 6ft 3in Georgian, who joined Sixways from French giants Toulon in 2014, believes the players won’t take their foot off the gas in the club’s last three matches and are determined to keep up a run of which has brought five wins in seven games.

The 23-year-old, who has played for Georgia’s Under 19s side, also believes the players will learn from their experiences this season and will continue to grow as a club moving forward.

“I think it’s been a very tough season but we’ve come a long way as a club, especially since the new year with a lot of new faces coming in,” said Rapava Ruskin.

“It was always going to be a big step-up from last season in the Championship, but I think we’re all growing individually and as a team.

“Personally I think I’ve been quite far off of what I’m capable of this season and I’m still learning a lot from Premiership rugby. Experience counts in this league.

“I’m proud of my physical attributes and my aggressiveness, but experience is a vital in any sport if you want to be successful and I think once you gain more of it, it makes you a dangerous player.

“Even though we’ve now secured our Premiership status for next season, their isn’t a relaxed atmosphere at the club. What I really enjoy about this team is that no matter what we achieve we’re never satisfied by any result.

“Yes we have breathing space but that doesn’t give us any warrant to lead off. For us now, it’s about the accumulation of what we’ve accomplished so far and showing it out on the field each weekend,” he added.
