MORE than 500 fans attended the first-ever World Darts Blockbuster in Worcester.

Legendary players Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor and Gary ‘The Flying Scotsman’ Anderson squared off at Sixways Stadium last Tuesday (April 12), in an exhibition event in aid of the Warriors Community Foundation.

The event, won by current PDC world champion Anderson, also saw four lucky supporters play against their darts heroes, before Warriors players Dan ‘Saint’ George, Perry ‘Peri’ Humphreys, Tom ‘Banter’ Biggs and Ben ‘Showbiz’ Howard all took to the oche to showcase their throwing skills.

Steve Thomas, Warriors head of sales said: “We were extremely proud to host an event of this magnitude and were delighted to see so many darts fans here at Sixways.

“We’ll be looking to add more events of this nature as we continue to grow our off-field offering. A big thank-you must go to sponsors Singha, who supported the event and kindly donated £1,000 to the Warriors Foundation.”
