Lamb and Mills could return in B&I Cup

WORCESTER Warriors are hopeful Ryan Lamb and Ryan Mills will be ready to launch their comebacks from injury in the British & Irish Cup.

Fly half Lamb has been out of action since having surgery on his neck in the summer, while centre Mills’ Warriors debut has been delayed after going under the knife to solve a knee problem.

But head coach Carl Hogg revealed the duo could be back in line to play in Worcester’s next two cup ties against Munster A and Moseley.

“We are hopeful Ryan Lamb and Ryan Mills will be in contention for the tail-end of this block of B&I Cup fixtures,” he said.

“We are in no position to push them as we have got to make sure it is the right time for them.

“But if there is an opportunity to integrate them in this block then we will do.”

The return of Lamb,  who joined Warriors from Leicester Tigers in February, is likely to be a big boost for Worcester as he made an impact to the side’s attacking ability at the back end of last season.

However, Hogg admitted the 28-year-old’s absence has allowed others to flourish this campaign.

“What is pleasing at the moment is that we have got a real team spirit whether that is on the weekend or on Monday nights,” Hogg added.

“We have got three or four supposedly big names not involved in the first team yet, but as a group we are progressing really well and that has created a really good buzz around the club.

“So yes, Ryan is a big personality and will add to us when he comes back, but the feel-good factor around the group has been excellent.”
