WORCESTERSHIRE County Cricket Club’s board have confirmed the appointment of Dominic Riley as the club’s new chair.

Riley replaces Fanos Hira in the chair role at New Road after the latter announced his retirement in December 2023 following five years in the position.

And Riley brings with him a wealth of experience in corporate leadership, marketing, and business development.

Riley said: “I am delighted and proud to have been invited to chair Worcestershire County Cricket Club.

“In particular, I welcome the opportunity to support our hardworking teams both on and off the field, and am looking forward to meeting the members and supporters as soon as possible.”

Worcestershire’s vice-chair, Dave Baker, added: “We are thrilled to welcome Dominic Riley as our new chair.

“His track record of successfully leading and scaling businesses, combined with his passion for sports, will be a tremendous asset to our club.

“We look forward to working with him to achieve our goals and build on our successes.”

Riley studied at the University of East Anglia, London Business School, and the University of Texas in Austin.

His corporate career has seen him take on senior management roles at companies such as Sony, the BBC and Reed Elsevier.

Since 2008, Riley has acted as a non-executive chairman at over a dozen private equity-backed and family businesses, as well as serving as an operating partner at two PE firms, with a focus on scaling businesses both domestically and internationally.

During his tenure as chairman of the Morgan Motor Company, he worked closely with management and family shareholders to steer the company to record profits.
