City aim for back-to-back wins at North Ferriby

WORCESTER City make the trip to Humberside tomorrow (Saturday) looking to secure back to back wins for the first time since December 1.

North Ferriby United are next up for Carl Heeley’s men as the Blue and Whites aim to get their play-off push back on track following Tuesday’s 1-0 victory over Oxford City.

Nathan Vaughan, who missed the midweek win through work commitments, looks set to come back into the starting XI along with Danny Jackman. The midfielder was also absent from the success with a hamstring injury.

Manager Heeley withdrew top-scorer Sean Geddes early in the second half against Oxford as a precaution, but the midfield maestro is expected to be fit.

The Villagers go into the game full of confidence having not lost in seven and they made the quarter finals of the FA Trophy for the second successive year with a 2-0 victory at Farnborough at the weekend.

Ferriby sit a place above Worcester in tenth, but level on 38 points, and are the Conference North draw specialists having picked up 11 from their 26 league games.

Billy Heath will be missing the injured Danny Emerton and Nathan Jarman but will have a fully-fit rest of his squad to pick from.

The last time the sides met was in August when two Daniel Nti penalties gave City their first victory of the season against the then league leaders.

Manager Heeley said: “They will be a big strong side, it is going to be tough there it always is.

“We beat them here and and it was a close game, it is going to be another close game and though afternoon but if we can compete and do as we have in the last couple of games we have got that bit of quality where we can pass if the pitch allows us to.

“We go there looking to win the game as we always do.”

A pitch inspection is scheduled for 9am.
