Chance of silverware for Worcester and Kidderminster

Worcester Editorial 21st Apr, 2015 Updated: 19th Oct, 2016   0

IT IS the landlords against the tenants tonight as Worcester City look to end their season with silverware when they play Kidderminster Harriers in the Worcestershire Senior Cup final.

The Aggborough tie is the only chance for both sides to get their hands on a trophy this season and would cap an excellent campaign off for City, who have already guaranteed themselves a top ten spot in the Conference North.

Worcester go into the game on the back of a hard-fought 1-0 victory at Bradford Park Avenue on Saturday, and have only tasted one defeat in their last five outings.

Former Harriers midfielder Danny Jackman will miss out on a return to face his old side, as will Connor Gater, while Michael Taylor also looks a doubt.

Kidderminster will be looking to put an end to their poor recent run which has seen them pick up just one win in their last 14 outings.

Gary Whild’s men currently sit in 14th place in the Conference Premier after a turbulent season on and off the field.

Worcester last won the Senior Cup back in 1997 but their record of 27 titles is more than any other club, with Harriers next in line on 25 wins.

Kidderminster last scooped the success five years ago with a 2-0 win over Halesowen Town.
