Witnesses sought after burglary in Norton, Worcester

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a pensioner’s house was burgled in Norton, Worcester.

The victim, an 86 year-old man, was leaving his property on Woodbury Lane at approximately 7.30pm on Sunday, August 14 when he was approached by a man asking to borrow a tool to fix his vehicle which had broken down near to the victim’s property.

He gave the man the tool and asked him to put it through the letterbox when he had finished but as the victim left he noticed a number of men arriving to fix the vehicle.

When the victim returned approximately 45 minutes later he discovered that a person, or people, had forced entry to the rear of the property.




It is believed a mobile phone was taken from the property.

Police are keen to speak to the men who were fixing the vehicle, a white flatbed vehicle carrying what appeared to be scrap metal, near to The Norton Retreat public house.


Officers are also keen to speak to the occupants of a dark coloured 5-door old Volkswagen Golf with distinctive black wheels.
