Witnesses sought after attempted robbery near cinema

A MAN was threatened with a bottle during an attempted robbery near the Vue cinema.

The 22-year-old was walking on College Street last Wednesday (April 27) just after 6.05pm when he was approached by two men who pushed into him and verbally threatened him.

Near the cinema, on Friar Street, one of the suspects then threatened the victim to give him his belongings using an object, believed to be a bottle. The 22-year-old was not injured.

Police released a description of the attackers, the first is described as a white man, 25 or 26 years old, between 5′ 8″ to 5’9″ and of a medium build. He is also believed to have dark blond or brown long gelled spiked hair and was thought to be wearing a long sleeved top with the words ‘tap out’ written on it.




The second suspect is described as a white man aged about 24 years old, approximately 5’11” to 6′ in height and of a stocky build. He is thought to have black hair and a moustache, and wearing a baseball cap, grey tracksuit trousers, a grey and white t-shirt.

Several members of the public were believed to have recorded the incident on their mobile phones.


Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident. Please call West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident number 543S of 27 April 2016.
