Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen or heard a collision in Worcester during the early hours of New Year’s Day.

At approximately 3am, a vehicle was involved in a collision with a dark grey Peugeot Horizon parked on Richmond Road.

Following new lines of enquiry, officers are keen to speak to a couple who may have been walking along Richmond Road from Cole Hill towards the direction of Richmond Hill.

PC Chris Day, West Mercia Police, said: “We urge anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact police on 101 as they may have important information that could help with investigations.

“Although the incident occurred around 3am, there may have been people returning from New Year’s celebrations who saw something.”

A white Audi was seen in the area, the driver of which may have useful information, although police are particularly keen to speak to the couple who were seen at the time.

Members of the public can call 101, quoting incident number 555s of 1 January.

Alternatively, people can give information anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 or via their website www.crimestoppers.co.uk
