A JEALOUS teenager who threatened his girlfriend’s co-worker at a sandwich shop in Worcester has been ordered to pay £245.

Brennan Kilner, of Charles Henry Road in Droitwich, pleaded guilty to using threatening behaviour when he appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court on Thursday (September 22).

Court heard how the 18-year-old directed his abuse at Noah Cooper at Subway in Shrub Hill Retail Park, where his then girlfriend worked, on August 26 because he gave Kilner a ‘funny look’.

Kulbir Paul, prosecuting, said: “He became angry and aggressive and started shouting and swearing, saying ‘I will stab him, I have been to prison and I will do it again’.

“Noah went to the back and locked the main doors to protect himself and his colleagues. Kilner stuck his middle finger up and at around 11.20pm he started rattling the doors. Noah said the threat really frightened him so he called the police.

“He was there for about five hours. Arrived at 6pm, then at 8pm, he left and was standing outside at 10pm and 11.30pm”.

In the police interview, Kilner made full and frank admissions but said he was just waiting for his girlfriend outside and that’s why he was there.

Mark Turnbull, prosecuting, said Kilner denied he had made threats to stab Mr Cooper or that he had been in prison which was not the case but did admit he threatened to hit him.

He said: “There’s a suggestion he becomes jealous and paranoid something is going on. That is perhaps the trigger. He had been in a relationship with this young lady for 20 months. It has now ended.

“He describes the relationship as quite toxic. He said there were trust issues on both sides. He also does struggle with depression and anxiety. He’s also been recently diagnosed with a personality disorder.”

He was fined £80, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £30 and a contribution towards costs of £135.
