THE HEAD nurse at a children’s hospice is urging people to join their tenth annual race event.

Jayne Collins work at the Acorns for the Three Counties in Bath Road and has emphasised how heavily the charity relies on sponsored events like the Acorns Triple Run to fund their work with children with life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses and their families.

It Will take place on June 21 at the Three Counties Showground, in Malvern and in the past more than 10,000 people have taken part raising in excess of £350,000.

The courses will include a 1km Fun Run, a 5km Woodland Trail and the Malvern Half Marathon. They are designed to appeal to all ages and levels of fitness so all members of the family can participate.

Miss Collins said: “Everyone is getting excited about this year’s Triple Run, which is an extra special event as the hospice marks its 10th anniversary. I want to encourage people to help us mark this significant milestone and support our work with children across the region.

“We rely heavily on fund-raising and income from events like this to provide the care our children need, which costs over £8 million per year. It also helps us provide essential support to the parents and siblings of our children, something which forms a significant part of what we do.

“The run will help us raise the funds which are vital in making sure Acorns can continue to provide the services it does. Whatever your ability or experience, sign up now and help support our work.”

The event is being sponsored by Western Power Distributions so all the money raised will go directly towards the people who use the services at Acorns Children’s Hospice.

Anyone wishing to take part in the Triple Run should visitwww.acorns.org.uk/triplerun or call 0844 984 0405.
