PUPILS from a Worcester school put the city’s MP under the spotlight and grilled him on a range of issues during his recent visit.
Robin Walker visited Blessed Edward Oldcorne Catholic College to talk to Year Eight pupils about his role as an MP and to find out more about the ‘Send My Friend to School Campaign’ in which the school is taking part.
It’s the 16th time the school has joined the campaign which aims to make pupils more aware of the importance of education in helping people move out of the poverty cycle both in the UK and abroad, with a specific focus on children in areas of the world that are affected by war, natural disasters and other emergencies.
Pupils also questioned the city’s MP on the upcoming EU referendum, Government plans to make all schools become academies, and the issue of fairer funding for Worcester schools.
