"Prowlers" spotted in Lower Broadheath

Worcester Editorial 24th Nov, 2015 Updated: 19th Oct, 2016   0

FOUR males have been seen “prowling around properties and gardens” in a suspicious incident in Lower Broadheath.

A resident of Broadheath Common reported the incident to police in the early hours of Monday (November 23) after she was alerted when the security light in her back garden came on just before 1am.

West Mercia Police said in a statement: “They looked out and saw four males standing in their back garden, near their garage. Visibility was poor, so they could not provide a detailed description of the males.

“The householder banged on the window and the males ran off through a side gate on to Lightwood Lane and then into Crown East Lane to a waiting vehicle which left in an unknown direction.

“Their next-door neighbours have CCTV which captured some grainy images of these suspicious males at approximately 00:35.

“Four people are seen in long-shot to enter the front driveway of a third house on Broadheath Common before approaching the next-door neighbours and coming on to their driveway.

“A camera mounted on the rear of the next-door neighbour’s property then shows one of the males, of medium build and height and wearing a bobble hat, and possibly a scarf around his face, approach the rear patio doors and momentarily look in, before leaving. This male left via an unlocked gate at the side of the next-door NeighbourHood house.

“It would appear that these males were going from house to house snooping before they entered the rear garden of our caller, were disturbed, and then ran off.”

If you see any people or vehicles behaving suspiciously in the area please ring 101.
