PLANS to create a £120million technology park on the edge of Worcester were unveiled to residents this weekend.
The development which could provide more than 5,000 jobs and will be situated at The Spetchley Estate, a 70-acre site near junction 6 of the M5.
A public consultation on the detailed proposals took place at Tibberton Village Hall on Plough Road on Saturday (October 11) where visitors had the opportunity to discuss the plans with developers and planners.
Leading Birmingham-based commercial property developer Stoford has been appointed as the development partner by the landowner and a reserved matters planning application is expected to have been submitted by early November.
The development site has been identified by Worcester County Council and Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership as one of four key ‘game changer’ sites which are key in the county’s employment and economy.
Up to 1.5million sq ft of accommodation in business units could be provided through the scheme.
Gerard Ludlow, Stoford director, said: “We invited local residents and business people to come along to the planning consultation.
“It was very important to us that we got the views of people from the Worcester area and we are keen to demonstrate how the proposed development will have a major positive impact on the county’s economic prosperity.”
