A WORCESTER theatre company gave secondary school students an educational performance.

Vamos Theatre Company provided an interactive workshop for the pupils of Bishop Perowne C of E College, to better their understanding of adult social care.

The two day project was organised by the Association for Care Training and their I Care Ambassador Service along with Vamos.

The event targeted years ten and 11 and informed them of the opportunities and pathways available into a career in adult social care.

They started off by delivering their production of Taking Care- Out for Tea, which is based on their national show, Finding Joy. The story features Joy and her grandson Danny, who looks after her, and their relationship.

The second day consisted of workshops covering vacancies, work experience, apprenticeships and recruiting in care occupations.

John Plant, assistant headteacher and head of the performing arts specialism at Bishop Perowne C of E College, said: “Vamos Theatre Company have been a long standing partner of the college and our students have been involved in many creative, dynamic and memorable learning experiences as a result of this partnership.

“We are delighted to host their new performance of Taking Care and work with ACT’s I Care Ambassadors again.”
