A WORCESTER nursery has raised £150 for charity after holding a special open-morning.
Believed to be Worcester’s longest standing nursery by the staff, Hawthorn Cottage Nursery on Blakefield Road in St John’s, celebrated its 30th birthday with a day of party-themed activities and a chance to win different prizes in a raffle.
Visitors were also able to take a tour of the nursery and meet staff.
The proceeds were donated to New Hope, a non-profit charity that work with families who have children with disabilities and complex health care needs.
Jean Wilson, founder of New Hope, said: “Our children love going out and about in their community visiting places like the cinema or the park. The monies donated will cover the cost of a trip out for our children, we appreciate the nursery’s very generous support.”
Hawthorn Cottage Nursery will be holding another open day on May 27, from 9.30am to 4.30pm. The day will also celebrate the nursery manager’s 25th year with the company.
