Myles in line for man's man crown

Worcester Editorial 30th Oct, 2014 Updated: 19th Oct, 2016   0

A FORMER Worcester school pupil has been named among the select few in with a chance of being crowned Britain’s Manliest Man.

Myles Leask, who studied at King’s School, beat more than 1,000 other men across the country to secure a place in the final 50 of the national competition, which is run by grooming brand The Bluebeards Revenge, men’s cancer charity Orchid and Men’s Fitness magazine.

The 25-year-old model will now be in the hands of an online vote, with the highest scoring finalist winning the coveted title, a one-year modelling contract with The Bluebeards Revenge and the opportunity to grace the Men’s Fitness pages.

“I’m definitely pleased to have reached this point in the competition,” Myles said.

“From a physical point of view I have got the chiselled features and muscular body generally associated with manliness, but I do believe there is more to it than that, and being a good person with strong morals is equally important.”

The winner will also become an ambassador for Orchid and help raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of cancer.

Nick Gibbens, spokesman for The Bluebeards Revenge, added: “Of course, there is more to this than looks alone, and this is something we feel should be given careful consideration.

“This will be life-changing and for some an opportunity they have been searching for and working towards their whole lives.

“But most importantly our winner will have the chance to spread a very important message and potentially save some lives while he is at it.

“At the moment, countless men are enduring needless suffering and it is down to lack of information and sometimes ever sheer ignorance of male specific cancers.”
