MEMBERS of an ambulance service are holding an open day and are asking residents and their families to join them.

The Midlands Air Ambulance Charity will be hosting the annual event this Saturday, September 5, at the Strensham Air Base in Worcester, at Junction 8, M5 Northbound, from 10 am until 4pm.

The organisation has arranged several fun activities for the public to enjoy including displays of the historic emergency vehicles such as police and military helicopters and the emergency services star attraction, the EC135 helicopter.

The whole event is free and the youngsters going along will also get the chance to meet Mac, the charity’s mascot.

Jason Levy, fund-raising and marketing director for the charity, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for members of the public to meet the Midlands Air Ambulance aircrew and see first hand the amazing service their donations fund.

“It costs £2,500 per mission and with no government or National Lottery funding, events like this one make our life saving services possible. Our open day is a great family day out and will help to save lives in the future.”
