Severe delays remain as the M5 is reopened

Worcester Editorial 5th Feb, 2016 Updated: 19th Oct, 2016   0

DRIVERS are still facing long delays on the M5 in Worcestershire due to over running roadworks.

The M5 between junction five for Droitwich and junction four A has finally been reopened after more than seven hours. But, there are still tailbacks all the way to junction 6 at Worcester.

Work being carried out by Highways England caused the severe delays as workers removed an over head gantry from the motorway. The work was due to be completed by 6am this morning (Friday).

The junction six slip way on to the M5 at Worcester heading northbound remains closed and is adding to the severe disruption.

Traffic is also queuing on the junction 7 slipway heading northbound.
