Half-term activities for the whole family

A HOST of activities are set to keep the whole family entertained as the city prepares for half-term.

Some of the highlights to look forward to over the week from Monday (October 27) to Friday (October 31) are:

Thursday October 30:

Fireworks Fright Night at KGV Playing Fields on Ash Avenue.




Fireworks, funfair, entertainment, food stalls and more at the free event, which also includes half price fair rides between 3pm and 5pm and a football tournament between 4pm and 6pm.

Friday October 31:

The 100th Anniversary Commemoration of the Battle of Gheluvelt at Gheluvelt Park on Barbourne Road at 11am.

An event to mark the Centenary of the battle. Stalls, displays, artillery guns and bands will be in the park.

Friday October 31:

Halloween at Fort Royal and The Commandery in Sidbury.

Ghostly-themed activities for children and family which will run from 6pm to 8pm.

A fancy dress competition will take place at The Commandery from 6pm for up to four-year-olds, from 6.15pm for five to eight-year-old and from 6.30pm for children between nine and 12.

There will also be a Spooky Treasure Hunt in Fort Royal Park before prizes and a disco back at The Commandery.
