A GENEROUS £21,000 donation to the children’s ward at Worcestershire Royal Hospital will allow staff to buy specialised equipment for children who need high dependency care.
The donation was made by Daisychain Benevolent Fund who have raised the thousands of pounds through their local charity shops and events held throughout 2015.
Staff on the ward are now planning to spend the money on specialist monitoring equipment for children and young people needing high dependency care, which will allow the team to keep a closer eye on those who need higher levels of care.
This is now the second donation Daisychain Benevolent Fund Trust has made to the children’s ward, having already donated more than £10,000 in 2014.
The team used that cash to buy new fans and ‘buddy beds’ that allow parents to stay overnight with their children.
Greg Rowe, chairman of the Daisychain Benevolent Fund Trust, said: “We’re really proud to support the children’s services here at Worcestershire Royal, and so pleased with the new facilities planned.
“I would like to thank everyone that donated clothing and goods to our shops and also the volunteers and fundraising staff for their enormous effort in making this all happen.”
Matron Dana Picken said: “We are so grateful that the team at Daisychain thought of us again.
“This donation is very generous and will enable us to buy extra equipment that will make a real difference to the experience of children and families on our ward.
