Food for thought

THERE was plenty of festive spirit at a city secondary school as students made Christmas inspired cakes and cookies to raise funds for charity.

Blessed Edward Oldcorne Catholic College held a festive fayre over three lunchtimes as year ten students aimed to generate money to give to the Teenager Cancer Care.

As well as making a variety of food and decorations for the event, students also sold a host of novelty gifts to boost their collection.

Cheryl Corbin, director of studies for Year Ten, said: “Throughout the year we encourage our students to consider others and help where they can. We support many charities one of our students favourites is Teenage Cancer Care.

“This has been very successful with lots of smiles and laughter from the great prizes along with sighs for the ‘boobie’ prizes.”
