Enjoying some festive music

A CITY school raised the roof of Worcester Cathedral when all of its pupils came together to take part in its annual festive service.

Proud parents came along on Monday (December 15) to see their children from Northwick Manor Primary School perform a host of Christmas carols.

It was the first time the school on Northwick Road held the annual event at the historic cathedral as pupils had previously gone to St Stephen’s Church.

The service, which was led by Canon Dr Stuart Currie, saw youngsters sing a mixture of traditional Christmas carols and new festive melodies. There were also solo performances from Libby Styles, Toby Auty and Alfred Kelsey who played Deck the Halls on the piano.

Headteacher Sian Williams said: “It was a fantastic experience and enabled use to celebrate Christmas all together. The cathedral added to the atmosphere and the children really raised their game.”
