A YOUNG woman had to get off the train at a city centre station after a ‘drunk’ man repeatedly touched her upper leg, a court has heard.
The victim was travelling from Bristol Temple Meads on November 24 when Vincent Storey-Day got on the train at Cheltenham at 5.50pm.
Storey-Day went and sat next to the woman and asked her where she was from and where she was going, Worcester Magistrates’ Court heard last Friday (January 23).
The 38-year-old also made comments about a tattoo she had on her thigh and called it ‘naughty’ and ‘sexy’ while leaning towards her, the court was also told.
Storey-Day, of Albert Road South in Malvern, then put his fingers on the tattoo to stroke it before he used the back of his hand to stroke it again shortly after.
The victim got off the train at Shrub Hill at 6.20pm and got a taxi for the rest of the journey.
Storey-Day pleaded guilty to sexual assault and said on the day he had drunk alcohol after being given the all clear following cancer treatment.
District Judge Nigel Cadbury ordered an ‘all options’ report for the defendant, who will next appear at the magistrates court on February 13.
“You can’t go away today thinking you have avoided custody because there is every chance you might not avoid it,” District Judge Cadbury said.
