A DRINK driver has been arrested after crashing into a fence at Worcester Racecourse.

The 30-year-old man blew 99mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath when he was breathalysed by officers from West Mercia, the legal limit is 35mcg.

He was nearly three times over the drink drive limit when his silver Mazda mounted the pavement on Castle Street and drove into the Racecourse fence at about 3.10am this morning (November 27).

The driver, who was uninjured following the crash, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and is still in custody.

Only yesterday (November 26) police launched their #dontdrinkanddrive.

A spokesperson for the South Worcestershire Policing Area said: “He is lucky there were no pedestrians around when he mounted the pavement.”
