THIEVES made off with a sports car after breaking into a house and stealing the keys.

The crooks forced their way through a downstairs window at the house in Bolton Avenue some time between 11pm last Wednesday (October 15) and 5am the following day.

They then stole the keys to a red Mazda 6 sport, worth about £27,000, and drove off in it.

The thieves also took a Sony digital camera, a laptop bag containing a DEL laptop and USB memory sticks.

DC Thomas Birchley of West Mercia Police said: “We are encouraging property owners to ensure that their homes are fully secure, all valuable items such as car keys, wallet, purses and electrical items should be hidden from view in a secure place and not in sight of any windows.

“Home owners can secure their homes by fitting good quality locks, covering windows and having alarms fitted.”

Anyone who witnessed the burglary or anything suspicious at the time is urged to contact West Mercia Police on 101.
