AN 18-year-old man was left with head injuries following an attempted robbery in Rainbow Hill.

In an attack police described as a ‘pure lack of respect’ for another human, the teenage victim was walking home from work between 1.30am and 2.15am on Monday, April 25 when he noticed two unknown men following him from BJH Motors.

The suspects then caught up with the victim and asked to know the time, before allegedly threatening the 18-year-old to hand over his property.

When he refused he was then pushed into a hedge on Mayfair Road, before being assaulted with a piece of wood.

The teenager managed to get away from the attackers and no property was stolen. The suspects then left the scene on foot in an unknown direction.

He was left with minor head injuries which required treatment at Worcestershire Royal A&E.

Police have released a description of the two male attackers. One is described as white, of a slim build, 5ft 10ins in height and was wearing a white hooded top. And the second a white man of a large build, 5ft 8ins tall and was wearing a black hooded top. Both men are also believed to have local accents.

PC Ben Kings, of West Mercia Police, said: “I would like to reassure the local community that these actions are not tolerated and we want to bring these individuals to justice following their pure lack of respect for another human being.

“Anyone who may have been within the area at the time, or has information in respect to the two men described is asked to get in touch by calling our non-emergency number.

“The public should remain vigilant at all times, should you see any suspicious activity, and then don’t hesitate to report this by calling 101.”

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or has any information relating to it, is urged to call West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident number 31S of April 25 2016.

Alternatively, information can be passed on anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
