ONE OF Britain’s longest surviving bands are set to light up the Swan Theatre next week in a bid to raise plenty of cash for charity.

The Searchers, who formed in 1959, are headlining John Banner Charitable Promotions traditional St George’s Day Concert on Wednesday (April 23) with proceeds going to good causes.

The group are legends from The Beatles era that changed entertainment history forever.

Hosted by John Banner himself the show includes all of the hits including Sweets For My Sweet, Needles and Pins, When You Walk in the Room and plenty more.

The Searchers are still led by John McNally, on 6 & 12 string guitar and vocals  and Frank Allen on bass guitar and vocals, with long standing member Spencer James, on synthesised guitar and vocals, and drummer Scott Ottaway completing the line-up.

A spine-tingling, flag-waving version of You’ll Never Walk Alone is set to complete the evening.

Tickets for the show, which starts at 8pm, cost £19.50. To book call the box office on 01905 611427.
