Ex Hurricane Gonzalo set to hit Worcester overnight

A WEATHER warning has been issued with strong winds and heavy rain set to lash the county in the next 24 hours.

Forecasts by the Met Office predict from midnight tonight wind speeds will increase, peaking at 25mph.

It also predicts there will be gusts in the next 24 hours which will be close to 50mph.

For Worcester, rain is predicted almost constantly from 1am to 7am and again for several hours in the afternoon.

The conditions will be caused by the remains of Hurricane Gonzalo which has made its way across the Atlantic after slamming into Bermuda.
